Limousin
Lounge
This tastefully restored family house, parts of which date back to the 15th century, lies in the heart of an attractive village typical of the Creuse region. Restored throughout to a very high decorative order. It lies just north of Limoges, and offers 5 beds, ½ acre of private garden and a fine pool.
Easily accessible, a 6 hour drive from Calais, it lies 5kms from the A20 (Paris-Limoges) motorway. The area is renowned for its lakes and forests and is an ideal setting for friends and families looking for tranquility, comfort, friendly people with lots of local activities and tourist sites. St Benoit de Sault, just 6 kms away, is a designated village of beauty by the French Tourist Board, and there are many more like it. The village has 2 bars ("Chez Annie" is very good), the people are obliging and friendly. The village also has a bakers, butchers, small supermarket, chemist and doctor.
Accommodation
The ground floor comprises a very large entrance/sitting hall, with large granite fireplace housing a woodburner, seating, well stocked bookshelves and stereo unit. The lounge (above) is very large with windows to the front and rear, it has a woodburning stove, comfortable seating, stereo/CD, television and video with an extensive selection of videos. The house has original doors, granite fireplace and flooring, shelving with books and games.

Bedroom
The farmhouse kitchen/dining has seating for 10, full and extensive electrical appliances - washer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, and cooker. All floors downstairs are either original clay tiles or granite, and there is a wealth of oak beams. The stable door in the kitchen opens out to the terrace and gives views over the very large garden and across the hillsides. English caretakers Mr Mrs Woods (Ann and Syd) will be on hand for pool and garden maintenance. Ann speaks very good French, if needed.
All 5 bedrooms are on the 1st floor, and are separate; there are no interconnecting rooms. They are as follows: 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin, 1 single, 1 triple, 1 full-size bathroom, with shower and WC, basin and heated towel rail. A hair drier is provided. There is also a king-size shower with WC, basin, heated towel rail (and hair drier). All rooms upstairs are either original clay tiles or solid oak, again with exposed oak beams mainly in the landing area, which again is of a very good size.
