La Basse Millière

La Basse Millière is a detached traditional house, entirely renovated according to local fashion. Spacious and south facing, the house is located at the edge of a quiet hamlet, just outside the village of Saint André Des Eaux.
Accommodation

The spacious accommodation is arranged over 3 floors as follows:

Ground floor: Large kitchen/living area with beams, woodburning stove, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven and fridge-freezer.

First floor: The first floor offers an ensuite double bedroom with shower, 2 further bedrooms on two levels with a platform in each (two single beds in one bedroom, one double in the other), a bathroom with full size bath and separate W.C.

Second floor: This is an open space on a mezzanine level with 2 twin beds.

 

Outside: The house has its own garden, equipped with a barbecue and garden furniture. The area is flat and ideal for cycling.
Local Information and Activities

Etang de Bétineuc: (1km) There is an artificial lake where you can sail, canoe and windsurf. The little sandy beach is supervised by a swimming instructor in the summer period.

Canal d'Ille et Rance: (2km) The canal is bordered by lovely lock houses and is well looked after. There are peaceful walks or drives along the towpath.

Evran: (2.5km) Evran is the nearest village offering all necessary shops and services (it has doctors, dentists, a post office, garages, a hardware store, a baker, butcher, groceries etc.)

Dinan: (8Km) Dinan is a medieval town with interesting narrow cobbled streets and old houses. Protected by ancient walls, the city overlooks the river Rance. There are regular guided tours of Dinan during the summer. It boasts many shops and places to eat and has a busy market on Thursday mornings.

Le Quiou and Tréfumel are both peaceful villages with old churches and 100 year old yew trees.
Old houses have a distinguished look, being built with limestone, the famous "pierre des faluns".
There is a family run restaurant in Tréfumel with excellent and cheap food.

Further Afield

Saint Mâlo and Dinard: (40Km) These are the two main seaside resorts situated on each side of the mouth of river Rance. There is a large choice of sandy beaches. Sailing, surfing etc…, also available. Le cap Fréhel offers its famous wild coast and "l'ile aux oiseaux". Rennes is the regional capital, and is a lively city with an interesting old centre. Le Mont Saint Michel is also within easy reach and is one of the seven wonders of the world. The clean and sandy beaches on the emerald coast are just half an hour's drive away.

Electricity, gas and wood are included in the price during summer period. A contribution towards use of heating (electric heaters) is asked during other months. Bed linen and towels are provided. All prices are per week, Saturday to Saturday. Pets are welcome. The owner lives in the same village and speaks English.

A 25% deposit will be required to secure reservation.
