Gingembre is of traditional wood and block construction and was built in
1993. It stands on its own plot of land with South facing views from the
balcony out over the Manigod valley, toward the spectacular peaks of Val
Sulens and Tournette. It is a family chalet, decorated in a cosy traditional
style. It has a large lounge area on the first floor with an open fire,
comfortable sofas and a dining table that can seat 8. French doors lead
to the balcony. The lounge also has a CD/tape stereo.
The Kitchen is situated off the lounge and is all powered by electricity. It has traditional wood units housing an oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher, with good-sized tiled work areas. Situated off the main lounge are three double bedrooms, two have double beds with electric blankets, one has a truckel bed that pulls out to make-up to a double or a twin. These are all comfortable good quality French beds with duvets. All rooms have independent thermostatically controlled heaters, which are very efficient. Also on the first floor is a bathroom with a bath and a separate toilet. On the ground floor there is a large room that serves as a playroom which also doubles as an additional bedroom if needed, with two truckel beds which convert to four single beds or two doubles. Also on the ground floor is a second bathroom with a power shower, toilet and basin, a ski-tech/laundry room with a washing machine, and a garage, which is mainly used as wood storage. For entertainment, there is a full size table-football machine and a dartboard, lots of board games, jigsaws and books. There is also a TV and video player. |
