The house was converted about ten years ago from old farm buildings and has three double bedrooms, a large well-equipped ground floor kitchen/dining room and a spacious first floor sitting room. It stands on the brow of a hill offering spectacular and uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside.

There are five other houses - all part of the original farm - on site. Guests share a 30m swimming pool and a well-maintained tennis court. The houses sit in an attractive garden of approximately 3 acres. There is only one small lane leading to the site, and the garden is well-fenced, so the area is ideal for children. This really is a peaceful spot: the only noise you are likely to hear is the very occasional tractor passing in the far distance on the road at the bottom of the valley.

The ground and first floor bedrooms have double beds; the top floor bedroom has two single beds. There's also a fold-down bed plus a "day" bed in the sitting room. The ground floor has a shower room (with toilet and hand-basin); on the first floor is a bathroom. Guests must provide their own towels and bed linen.

The kitchen has a double sink, oven, large fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, iron, vacuum cleaner plus all the crockery, glasses and cooking utensils you're likely to need. The sitting room has a radio, cassette and CD player. There's a full range of patio furniture including loungers, chairs, table, umbrella and barbeque.

Although St Paul is a quiet, secluded village, there are three attractive restaurants within walking distance and many more within a few miles. The area has a number of attractive historic market towns including Aubeterre, Brantome and Villebois. Weekly gourmet food and general markets are held in Perigeux (45 miles away), Riberac and St Aulaye. Nearby there is safe bathing on specially maintained river beaches and canoeing.
