The family orientated "blue flagged" long sandy beach at Portiragnes Plage, only 5 minutes' drive away.
The villa has been recently furnished to a high standard. The patio terrace, is accessed up a very short flight of steps, where you will find a spacious, partly shaded terrasse, with planting and garden furniture (consisting of a large table with 8 chairs and a sun umbrella together with assorted sun lilos).
The Lounge, which opens out onto the terrasse with views over the vineyards, consists of two 3 seater sofas, sideboard with CD/Radio/DVD Player / TV and coffee table. The Kitchen is well equipped with a 4 plate hob, combination microwave/grill/oven, washing machine, fridge/freezer and all necessary crockery and utensils. Fans are located throughout the villa.
There is a private car park space adjacent to the villa. From the patio terrasse, you enter into the ground floor of the villa via French patio doors. The ground floor consists of Lounge/Dining Room, Kitchen, Double Bedroom and Bathroom. The first floor is accessed by a pine staircase, leading to a Twin Bedroom, and a Mezzanine with a double bed and a futon.
The beach at Portiragnes
The beach front is not over-developed, but has all the facilities one would expect. The view from the beach stretches from Cap d'Agde down to the Spanish border. Within close proximity are the old port of Agde and the medieval town of Beziers, with its railway links. Also, within approximately 30 minutes drive are Sete, Pezenas, Narbonne and Montpellier (with its airport). Carcassonne, Perpignan and Nimes (all with budget airline connections) are about 1 hour drive away, and Barcelona over 2 hours' drive away.
The
Languedoc Roussillon area has a variety of opportunities. From
the charming and picturesque villages in the mountainous hinterland
to the long unspoilt sandy Mediterranean beaches, there are vineyards
to explore, medieval castles, cathedrals and other historical places
of interest. Carcassonne Cite, Narbonne cathedral, historical
Beziers and Agde together with cultural Montpellier
are all within easy reach of the villa. Along the Mediterranean coast,
there are golf courses (Beziers and Cap d'Agde) horseriding,
beach activities (tennis, bike hire, sailing),
boat cruising on the Canal du Midi, open air concerts (in season)
and in all the surrounding towns and villages there are wonderful markets
to explore.
