Gite and Chambres d'Hôte (Bed & Breakfast), Auvergne, France
La Platriere is a newly converted house consisting of a large house with an adjoining gite. It is set in 3 acres of its own grounds, in a delightful, secluded position at the end of a driveway within the rural countryside of the Auvergne region in France.
B&B details There are 6 twin-sharing bedrooms within the main house. All bedrooms have en-suites and are simply decorated with comfortable furnishings. All linen and towels are provided.
The gite has 2 bedrooms and can sleep up to 6 people. It has a fully equipped kitchen with dining area, and an adjoining living room, and bathroom. A radio and CD player are also provided. The gite is also heated. Outside there is a private terrace with patio furniture.
All rooms are indivdually decorated to a very high standard. There are exposed beams and wooden or tiled flooring throughout. There are two siiting rooms each boasting comfortable furniture. There is also a wood burning stove. All bedrooms are centrally heated.
Like the B&B, all linen and towels are
provided. A welcome pack is provided for your comfort in the self-catering
gite. The gite has a washing machine and facilities for washing laundry
are also provided within the main house for our B&B guests, ensuring
you can pack light for an extended holiday in France.
In your spare time you will be able to enjoy numerous leisure pursuits, such as hiking, biking, swimming (either in the pool at La Platriere, or in one of the local lakes), fishing, bird-watching, horse riding, picnics, outings to local markets, chateaux and other places of interest, or just relaxing in the garden.
Please note that a heated swimming pool is being installed in March 2005.
During part of the year we run various workshops, please see our own web site for details. During 2005 these will be held in a large marquee on the lawn. A large log-style cabin is planned for 2006. Please contact us if you are interested in either leading workshops yourself or wishing to attend. Several residential workshops are planned for 2005 and details of these are available on our own web site.
Families and children are welcome, although there may be certain weeks
during the year when specific workshops are running when it may not be
possible. Please enquire about pets.
Chambre d’hote (bed & breakfast) is available all year round at £50.00 per room per night. This includes a continental style breakfast. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
