La Retreat has far reaching views and beautiful landscape making it the perfect hideaway for artists and photographers alike. It is set between the bastide villages of Monclar and St Etienne de Fougeres about 40 minutes from Bergerac.
It
has recently been beautifully restored from the original stone barn, retaining
many features, such as exposed oak beams, but also offering up-to-date
facilities.
The
accommodation is all on one level and has two good-sized bedrooms, one
double and one twin-bedded (right).
The kitchen (below) is well equipped with a full size electric cooker
with oven and grill, microwave, washing machine, fridge freezer, toaster,
kettle, coffee maker, ironing board and iron.

The lounge/diner has a pine table and chairs, a sideboard, a double sofabed settee, two armchairs, hi-fi system (cd/tape and radio), small coffee table, paper back books and games. The lounge/diner leads you out to the covered dining/ BBQ area overlooking the 12 x 5 mtr pool.
From just outside your living room you will have glorious uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. For 'al fresco' eating we provide you with a large dining table and chairs in addition to sun loungers for the pool.

If
you require a full grocery pack this can be provided, please contact
us for details. Unfortunately we are unable to accept pets. The
majority of the time you will have exclusive use of the pool. Children
under the age of 14 years must be supervised at all times in and around
the pool area; under no circumstances are flippers to be used in the pool.
Smoking is not permitted inside the gite.
The property is accessed from the D667 from St Livrade Sur Lot to Monclar. A map of directions can be e-mailed or posted on booking. The village of Monclar (1.5km) has a shop, butchers, bank, hairdresser etc. There is a golf course nearby in Tombeouf. The village of St Livrade (4.km) is situated beside the river Lot, where there is a Friday weekly market - the largest in the area - and banks, bakeries, butchers, cinema, supermarket (with one of the best butchery departments) and a bakery. The village has many more shops bars and restaurants. Villeneuve-Sur-Lot (20mins) has all the amenities of a large town including many supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants, Agen (40mins), Bergerac (40mins), Bordeaux and Toulouse (1.15 mins)
