In the heart of the midi-pyrénées region of South West France (between Toulouse and Carcassonne) lies le Périé, a very large and beautiful 1850’s stone built farmhouse. Set in 24 acres with private woodland and river it offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to 6 guests.

With just over 500 inhabitants, Rieucros is truly a sleepy, rural village with an historic interest – home to the Resistance in WW2. The property is the last house in the village with its land sitting behind, permitting visitors to benefit from village life on the one hand and the seclusion of surrounding terrain on the other.…

    The Farmhouse
  •  On the edge of the Ariège village of Rieucros, nestling in the foothills of the Pyrénées, le Périé is a traditionally stone built 3 bed roomed farmhouse.
    • Dating from the 1850’s, it retains many of its original features exposed beams, central fireplace, Dutch barn and stables. Accommodation is comfortable, very spacious and traditionally furnished.

  •  Set in 24 acres, the the river Hers, with it’s variety of coarse fish, flows through our private woodlands. In season it is permitted to fish.


  •  A stunning focal point for al fresco dining during the long, hot summer months. is the swimming pool, pool house and a large terrace (shared with the proprietors)

    2 double bedrooms and 1 twin
    The first floor offers a large ensuite double bedroom (below right) looking out onto private courtyard, with Louis XV double bed, marble top bedside cabinets and in-built wardrobe.


    The second en-suite bedroom looks out onto the garden and has an antique wooden double bed with matching wardrobe and marble top bed cabinets.

    The twin bedroom is light and spacious with 2 pine adult-size twin beds overlooking a private courtyard.

    There is also a tiled bathroom with large corner bath and shower attachment, shower cubicle and twin washbasins and a separate W.C.

    Ariège remains one of France’s best kept secrets. Little wonder when you admire the wealth of natural beauty in the region: the Pyrénées, pre-historic caves, grottos, rivers, lakes, woodlands, forests and hidden villages where even today traditional customs still exist. For lovers of the great outdoors, all manner of country pursuits is available: horse-riding, walking, fishing, sailing, rafting, cycling and ski-ing in the winter. Le Périé is situated in Rieucros on the D119 between the lively Market town of Pamiers with it’s ancient cathedral and cobbled streets and the medieval town of Mirepoix where the delightful main square with its timber-framed buildings is awash with restaurants and bars.
