Newly renovated Gite to rent in the fabulous village of La Mothe Saint Heray situated at the heart of the Poitou-Charentes. Large fruit garden for private use, BBQ, seating area, and a good-sized pool.

Le Petit Four is a tastefully renovated self-contained gite within an old traditional farmhouse property, which has been furnished to a high standard, with its own separate entrance.

Accommodation  

Sleeping 4-6 people, the ground floor consists of a large open plan kitchen /dining room, with a wood burning stove and original oak beamed ceiling. The kitchen comes fully equipped with microwave, fridge/freezer, cooker, dish-washer, plus a large range of cooking accessories.

Also on the ground floor is a separate lounge, comprising a sofa bed, sofa ,TV, video, DVD,CD player and a large range of available cds, dvds and videos .



 

 

An Oak staircase leads you to the first floor, which comprises of 2 beautifully decorated and furnished bedrooms, with oak beams, and oak flooring, first bedroom has a double bed, the second has twin beds. Both rooms have a wardrobe, bedside table with lamps, and a chest of drawers.

The bathroom is also on the first floor and combines traditional stone walls and oak beams with a modern suite and hydro-massage shower and bath.

A cot, highchair and stair-gate is also available if required. Bedding and towels are supplied. We also offer a laundry service.

 

We offer a welcome pack which consists of local cheese, wine, eggs, fresh bread, milk, English tea, and of course toilet roll. When you arrive we will be here to greet you and offer any help and advice you might need.

The gite can be found midway between the large town of Niort and the city of Poitiers just off the A10 auto route. The large historical village of La Mothe saint Heray offers all the joys of French country living within a bustling community. The village itself offers 2 banks, 3 café/bars, 2 pharmacies, 3 boulangeries, 3 charcuteries, 2 hairdressers, a co-op, newsagents, hardware store etc.

In addition there is also a traditional weekly market offering a wealth of French cuisine and local delicacies.

Le Petit Four lies directly behind the areas most famous historical building “The Orangerie” the last-remaining building of the demolished Chateau.

Next to Le Petit Four is the famous river “Deux-Sevres” which meanders through the village.


The area, activites, where to go and visit

Where do we start?? There really is something for everyone, you will be spoilt for choice. Futuroscope, for families and children we have the second largest theme park in France, second only to Eurodisney.

La Vallee des singes, discover over 350 primates, 30 species, in a very natural setting, stroll through nature with direct contact with the animals.

L`lle aux serpents is set in a scenery made of caves and green vegetation, the visitors will discover and stare in astonishment at the 50 species, including 250 animals living in a replica of their environment.

Les Geants Du Ciel birds from every corner of the earth show off their particular skills. The public will be enthralled by the savage beauty of the birds of prey or by the romantic doves. Marais Poitevin This is an invitation to come and explore the area we call “Venise Vert” or “Green Venice”either by foot, cycle or gondolier or canoe.

Poitiers (35 mins) La Rochelle (1hr) Both airports offer cheap flights from Stanstead (Ryan air) St Malo (4 hrs dive) Roscoff (4 hours drive) St Maixent (15 mins) links with the TGV rail from Waterloo. We offer airport pick-ups and drop-offs, at reasonable rates, and upon request also daily or half-daily guided tours of the area or to a destination of your choice.

Season's prices
Peak season bookings are Saturday (after 4pm arrival)to Saturday (before 10am departure). A non-refundable deposit of 20% will be taken on booking, and then the full balance 8 weeks before start of holiday along with a damage deposit of £100 , which will be refunded on departure if no breakages .If holiday is booked less than 8 weeks before the full balance will need to be paid. Please note that bookings of 2 weeks or more will recieve a 10% discount
