Mas des Grailles

Set in its own large grounds, this converted Mas used to be a grain store for the Chateau de Portes, which is perched above.

Situated in the heart of the Cevennes National Park, access is by private drive. The gite is blessed with magnificent views over the far side of the wooded valley.

The ground floor offers a fully equipped kitchen/dining area, with an archway through to sitting room.

Upstairs has 2 bedrooms, ashower room and loo.

The gite has large natural grounds with cherry & apple trees, willows, oak, mimosa, chestnut & walnut surrounded by indigenous pine. There are two large terraces either side of the mas that benefit from sunshine morning until late evening.

Buzzard, deer, red squirrel and wild boar visit our grounds, which are private and relaxing. The local area offers all manner of activities. If you enjoy outdoors exploring, walking, cycling or relaxing cooking, painting or reading in complete privacy -this is the place for you!

We are located to the North West of Nimes. Ryanair has flights from Stansted to Nimes (1 hour away) or Air France & British Airways fly to Montpellier (1.25 hours). Portes is situated between the town of Ales to the south and the villages of Chamborigaud and Genolhac to the north in the heart of the Cevennes National Park. The Chateau at Portes dates back to the Middle Ages and is now being renovated by the Ministry of Culture. We have magnificent views. The area is marvellous for cycling, walking, canoeing. and is also great for bird lovers.
