| Located off the main market square in the historic town of Richelieu | |
![]() |
Situated in the heart of the 'Garden of France' it is easy to see why Cardinal Richelieu chose this area to build his own walled fortress town. Our house is situated in the main market square. It was originally an early 17th Century Courtiers residence now divided into two houses, connected by a corridor on the first floor. Open the eight foot original oak doors, over the original cobbles and you are in a wisteria covered courtyard offering secure and peaceful seclusion. |

The gite is available throughout the year. (When let the front house will be locked off and unoccupied.) The villa is arranged over three floors connected by the original wooden spiral staircase. On the ground floor is a large beamed living room with newly installed wood burning stove leading to a modern, oak beamed kitchen/dining area. Adjacent to this is a separate toilet, large bathroom with shower, and washing machine and separate dryer. The entrance hallway leads to the open air courtyard and staircase to 1st floor. This has two huge double bedrooms (yellow with extra single bed and blue with full size English style cot) a second bathroom (bath and separate shower) and toilet. The staircase to 2nd floor leads to two further large twin bedrooms (pink and green!). All bedrooms have wooden floors. |

spacious, bright and South facing. We have fully equipped it with modern
appliances to make your holiday trouble free - full oven and hob/ microwave/

to our own family needs the house has a large range of baby/child equipment
including push chairs, travel cots, stair gates, high chairs(2), paddling
pool, toys etc which may be borrowed free of charge on request to the caretaker. In the large outdoor Courtyard there is a six seat dining table and chairs with barbeque. English caretakers live locally and able to offer other services (prepared meals for arrival/shopping/babysitting etc). NB. Although sleeping 8-10 this house is only let for a maximum of 6 + baby. The whole house could be available with another kitchen, huge living area and two double bedrooms but as yet no further bathrooms and toilets. |
